Midwxst isn’t one to sit around and let his music simmer — striking while the iron is hot with his new teaser tape, sorry4thewait.
Boasting five unheard tracks, the 19-year-old hyperpop phenom blazes through each heavy-hitting cut with ease. Keeping his foot on the gas stemming from his energetic single “slide den” (Oct. 8) — coinciding his announcement of a joint tour with Dro Kenji — Midwxst continues to prove that time is of no concept to him.
.@midwxst and @drokenji are going on tour together next month… 🤯 #OGM

Two of the new wave’s brightest stars. This about to be a special run. Tickets are on sale now. Peep here: https://t.co/ECSEJ4M2dV pic.twitter.com/BsF2QwkwVe
Just hours after uploading the fiery, pump-up track to DSPs, Wxst sneakily posted his underground EP to his second SoundCloud account midwxst2 (formerly known as suspectarchive) — which houses a slew of covers, throwaways and remixes left for die-hard fans to find. Amid the tape’s release on Oct. 8, the BIA emcee also hopped on DC The Don‘s long-awaited track “Suicide” this weekend (Oct. 14).
sorry4thewait also seems to be the precursor to Midwxst’s first official album — speaking on the forthcoming record with us this past year at Lollapalooza. Sharing singles in “under fire,” “broken” and his most recent project BACK IN ACTION 3.0, the Indiana-bred rapper is flooding the game at a rapid pace all in preparation of his major label debut.
this album is fucking insane

“I’d definitely say that something is in the works. I put those singles out because they’re all quality songs — they’re all really good reflections of who I am. I really wanted people to hear those tracks, but now I’m focusing on my debut album. Some of the shit I have on that one is insane. The producers and features on there are wild. I’m boutta come out the cut with that, bro.”

With more heat on the way, Midwxst has no reason to apologize on sorry4thewait — satisfying fans’ wishes as he readies for his mainstream moment.
