Pooh Shiesty makes waves from behind bars with ‘Shiesty Season: Certified’

Even while incarcerated, Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty has maintained relevancy over the last few months, as his catalog grows under the supervision of 1017 CEO Gucci Mane.

One week ago (April 20,) Rolling Stone reported that Shiesty received a five-year sentence for a shooting that resulted in one non-fatal injury. In honor of the arguably reasonable sentence, his team released the deluxe version of his 2021 album Shiesty Season with appearances from Gunna, Jack Harlow, Lil Durk, EST Gee, 42 Dugg, Lil Uzi Vert and more.

Shiesty Season: Certified brings the tracklist to a whopping 32 tracks, continuing the trend of supersized trap albums. Considering how long Pooh has been locked up, he never ceases to impress with the amount of music he had in the vault prior to his incarceration.

Originally facing eight years, the shortened sentence is cause for celebration as we have recently seen Bobby Shmurda’s ability to come back from a lengthy bid, implying the same could happen for the “Back In Blood” rapper.

While the wait for Pooh Shiesty’s freedom is just beginning, he has plenty of music out now to hold fans over for the time being. Whether he will be able to maintain popularity is yet to be seen, but for now we will take what we can get with Shiesty Season: Certified.
