Los Angeles singer-rapper Blxst has expanded his reach exponentially since his September 2020 debut album, No Love Lost.
Along with dropping a joint project last summer (July 2021) with Bino Rideaux — and subsequent deluxe in December — Blxst’s star power has been on full display, linking up for collaborations with 21 Savage, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Russ, YG and Mozzy, Buddy, Blueface, Wale and more.
On top of being able to work with some of the industry’s finest talents, Blxst received a spot on the 2021 XXL Freshman Class, and was named Best New Artist at the 2022 XXL Awards.

Now, riding this wave of A-list momentum, Blxst has arrived with his second solo project Before You Go, released on April 22. Blxst’s elite fusion of R&B and hip-hop over West Coast production is both contemplative and ear-catching, as the album contains 13 songs and spans 32 minutes.
Before You Go features both of its pre-released singles with the third song “About You,” released in December 2021 and the ninth song “Sometimes” with Zacari, released in early March. Both of these promotional tracks were granted music video treatments, as Blxst continues to dictate his standing in the game with quality release after release.
The rest of the LP consists of a steady diet of solo tracks and features, as artists like Rick Ross, Arin Ray and Grandmaster Vic provide assists for Blxst on consecutive songs in the middle of the project.
Along with the release of Before You Go, Blxst dropped he music video for “Every Good Girl,” as he rides around the city and countryside with his significant other on a sunny Los Angeles afternoon.
In his short yet fruitful career thus far, Blxst has proven his consistency and skilled songwriting ability each step of the way, and that is no different on his latest effort.
