Metro Boomin slings together hits on ‘Across The Spider-Verse’ deluxe

Metro Boomin is more than a producer, he’s a maestro — weaving moments through music that are irreplaceable from the culture.

The prolific Atlanta hitmaker, known for his collaborative work with 21 Savage, Future as well as solo albums in NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES and HEROES & VILLAINS, Metro’s stature in hip-hop is all thanks to the superstar connections he’s cultivated. Over the years, the 29-year-old has positioned himself as perhaps the greatest living beatmaker of our generation, as Boomin curates yet another grandiose soundtrack tailor-made for all listeners.

Stringing together a slew of star web-slingers, the “Across The Spider-Verse” soundtrack includes artists in JID, Nas, Future, 21 Savage, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Don Toliver, James Blake, Offset and so much more. Sharing the album’s title track featuring Swae Lee and NAV, “CALLING,” earlier this week, Across The Spider-Verse contains 13 tracks with multiple guest verses on each cut.

Metro dropped its coinciding deluxe on June 5, which adds six more tracks feature Dominic Fike, Becky G, Big Boss Vette, Shenseea and more. The album earned 139 Million streams on Spotify in its opening week, making it the highest-streamed hip-hop debut of 2023 so far.

Metro has teased a slew of joint projects with a few artists on the powerhouse soundtrack, most notably JID, whose duo moniker JIDTRO is poised to take over airwaves upon its forthcoming release. Among other collaborators, Don Toliver, A$AP Rocky and Future all are slated to drop projects alongside Metro sometime soon, with Future’s presumably on deck.

The film, which released alongside the soundtrack on Friday (June 2), follows new age Spider-Man Miles Morales, as he travels through the multiverse meeting other Spider-Men — and women — from different worlds.
