Lancey Foux reveals fiery new album ‘LIFE IN HELL’

This story has been updated to reflect the release of Foux’s “WORLD ON FIRE” visual (March 10).

After feeding fans a steady stream of mythical-sounding singles this year, UK-based sensation Lancey Foux is showing us the LIFE IN HELL we’ve lived all along.

Dropping the 22-track album on Oct. 28, Lancey’s latest was fittingly shared on Halloween weekend — teasing the record with horror-inspired images that have accompanied its promotion this month.

Foux rides solo on the majority of the album, tapping producer extraordinaire KAYTRANADA for two tracks as well as singer-songwriter 070 Shake for a delightful collaboration. Singles in “LANCEY OR LANCEY,” “ALL NIGHT LONG” and “SPIRIT OF X2C — the ethereal opening track for LIFE IN HELL — all came with enigmatic visuals that play on the contrast of his celestial vocals and dark artistic aesthetic. His latest was “WORLD ON FIRE” (March 10), which sees transitonary, euphoric effects play off Foux’s hellish fallacies.

Despite the lengthy wait for LIH, Lancey has been anything but stagnant — appearing on standout tracks by KayCyy, Yeat, Johan Lenox, Strick, Matt Ox and more. His most recent collaboration was with fellow underground up-and-comer tana, flexing on listeners with a designer-themed track titled “swaggin like this.”

The London rockstar enhances unbridled artistry ten-fold on LIFE IN HELL, as the album could very well settle in to be the magnum opus Foux promised last year.
