UK rapper Lancey Foux is one of the most talented and consistent members of the new wave — continuing to earn his flowers with a surprise track.
Dropping “Lancey or Lancey” on Friday (Sept. 23), Foux gives reference to both the American and British pronunciations of his name as he gears up for his highly-anticipated album LIFE IN HELL.
Foux is in player mode as he spits about the side effects of his recent success, including his antics with female fans. The NO CRDNTLS-directed visuals are typical of Lancey — riddled with psychedelic effects and dark, brooding scenery.
The track itself is a bombastically stark and triumphant effort that emanates the pure energy Foux elicits in his music. The rapper is all things raw and rage on “Lancey Or Lancey,” as his trademark “yeah” ad-libs scatter in between the track’s buzzing 808s and synth-heavy melodies.
In the video’s description, the UK-based wrote that LIFE IN HELL is “coming sooner than you think” — signaling the beginning of the rollout for his forthcoming release. Foux initially spoke on the project in his interview with OGM host Hakeem Rowe, as “Lancey Or Lancey” follows collaborations with tana, Yeat, KayCyy, Johan Lenox and more as well as a few singles including “Cooler Than Me.” To further lead in the record, he and Joony are also currently on the “LIFE IN HELL Tour,” which kicked off on Sept. 10 at Rolling Loud Toronto.

His 2021 record, LIVE.EVIL, was seemingly a precursor for LIFE IN HELL’s eventual release. However, if his ventures this year are any indication of what’s to come, fans are in for another stellar project from the friendly, rage-inducing Foux.
