2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards: Tyler, The Creator, Cardi B, Lil Baby, Lil Durk shine on stage

Tyler, The Creator’s year just keeps on getting better.

After the release of his Gangsta Grillz-inspired album CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST, The Creator’s hard work definitely paid off at the 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards. Tyler took home wins in two of the show’s biggest categories: hip-hop album of the year and best live performer.

Previously recorded on Oct. 1 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, BET’s festivities officially aired Tuesday night — featuring a plethora of performances, shout-outs and heartfelt speeches from the genre’s most achieved entertainers.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s “WAP” earned a slew of awards, as the duo’s blockbuster hit won Song of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Video, and Best Collaboration.

Other notable wins included Lil Baby for hip-hop artist of the year and best duo or group (with Lil Durk), Yung Bleu for Best New Artist, J Cole won Lyricist Of The Year and Saweetie took home Hustler Of The Year.

BET also nominated artists for special categories like “I Am Hip Hop” awardee Nelly as well as Tyler, The Creator’sRock the Bells Cultural Influence Award.

Performances from Young Thug, Gunna, Isaiah Rashad, Baby Keem, Latto and others all rocked the stage, as hip-hop’s biggest and brightest stars were on full display for all to see.
