Trippie Redd has signed, seal and delivered his new album, A Love Letter To You 5.
Amid months of teasers and holdover singles, ALLTY5 arrived on Friday (Aug. 11), one week after its originally scheduled release. At 19 tracks long with features from Bryson Tiller, Corbin, The Kid LAROI, Lil Wayne and now ex-girlfriend Skye Morales, Trippie’s return to form is solidified with a newly-sent Love Letter.
The 1400 rapper held fans over with its third and final single “Left 4 Dead” (Aug. 4), which preceded lead efforts in “Last Days” and “Took My Breath Away.” The music video immerses you into Trippie’s wicked world — rising from the grave tattered from a broken heart.
God and the Devil engage in a round of RPS, as K Suave and other 1400 members throw flowers on Redd’s camera lens-clad coffin. Restless six feet under, the love he’s lost and found still weighs heavy on Redd’s mind. “I try so hard to fake a smile / It feels like clouds keep raining down / Shit ain’t the same the second time around,” he sings, setting the stage for ALLTY5’s love-torn allure.
Redd shared “Last Days” on July 26 — which has been a longtime fan-favorite amongst leaked listeners — as another appetizer ahead of the LP, prior to ALLTY5’s final delay.Initially dropping “Took My Breath Away” (June 16) featuring then-girlfriend Skye Morales, this ignited ALLTY5’s long-awaited rollout with a sultry anthem alongside his former flame. “I took a break from real music to make rage music,” he wrote about the album on Twitter. “It was fun but now it’s time.”
Although A Love Letter To You 5 made headlines last October, snippets was the emo-rap pioneer’s major play to draw anticipation. Sharing a teaser in First Draft — a two-pack of melancholic bangers that embody Redd’s historic essence — it was previously thought that these cuts, “Big 14” with Moneybagg Yo, “Ain’t Safe” with Don Toliver and other loose tracks were to lead in ALLTY5. Yet, none of these loosies wound up on the record.

Coupled with performances at Summer Smash and Rolling Loud, Trippie’s 2023 started when he shared the feature-heavy Mansion Musik in January — admitting he put out the album due to hackers holding him for “ransom” in an interview with Zane Lowe. More recently, he linked up with Grade A Productions signee Zzz on “Sad & Alone,” which displayed traces of Trippie’s vintage sound found on earlier ALLTY editions.
Redd is also hitting the road for the “Take Me Away Tour” starting this Fall. The 24-date trek kicks off on Aug. 31 in Somerset, Wisconsin and ends on Oct. 9 in Seattle. He’ll be joined by special guests in LUCKI, Jean Dawson, D. Savage, Ekkstacy, K Suave and more. You can purchase tickets HERE via Ticketmaster.
