Cl4pers and DotComNirvan link up for ‘Want Me’ music video

2021 gave hip-hop a litany of young sensations in rap’s new wave. The TikTok era, along with a buzzing underground of artists and creatives who are mostly all teenagers, has added a new dimension to the genre.

With that being said, two people who have benefitted greatly from this blossoming culture are Cl4pers and DotComNirvan. Starting with Cl4pers, if you are not familiar with the name, you’ve likely heard his song “Want Me,” which has exploded on TikTok in the last half of the year. He was 13 years old when he released the track on SoundCloud in July, and has gained an incredible amount of notoriety since.

As he shouted out his new wave idols like KA$HDAMI, Autumn! and BabySantana on the track, guys like Santana and yvngxchris returned the favor by co-signing him in the aftermath of his blow-up.

As for DotComNirvan, he is one of hip-hop’s hottest music video directors at the moment. First starting by helping to make videos for Matt Ox and Lil Candypaint, Nirvan has built an empire as seemingly the guy every bubbling new wave rapper turns to for an intriguing visual, most notably Yeat and Kankan.

So, it seems fitting for Cl4pers’ first ever music video for his first ever song, which has reached 18 million Spotify listens, that it be directed by DotComNirvan. The visuals for “Want Me,” released on Dec. 3, effectively encapsulate Cl4pers’ youthful energy.

He is seen being playfully mischievous by stealing the keys to a stranger’s car and enjoying himself at a go-kart track. Nirvan did an excellent job portraying Cl4pers as a fun-loving, wide-eyed kid, because that is essentially who he is in relation to the industry he surprisingly found himself a part of.
