SOONR or later, KayCyy will share his long-awaited debut album Who Is KayCyy?. But for now, the YZY Sound star finishes what he and Gesaffelstein started.
Sharing a fully realized version of their 2022 EP on Friday (May 26), the transporting tandem’s joint album TW2052 is a mosiac masterpiece of experimentation — and an inkling to KayCyy’s experience-driven direction as an artist.
Featuring all three cuts on TW20 50, the dual-wielded “Roll The Dice” was one of four new tracks added to the new project. On non-single cuts like “ASHLEY’s HEARTBEAT,” “TIMELESS” and “NO COLD,” Kay and Gesaf prove to be a perfect pairing — intertwining one’s fleeting, otherworldly vocals with the other’s distinctive prowess behind the boards.
The proclaimed producer, most known for his hand in The Weeknd’s My Dear, Melancholy, and KayCyy boast a strong rapport, as each track intoxicates listeners with forlorn melodies and cinematic sequencing alike. TW2052 is My Dear, Melancholy reimagined: More grandiose, stripped back and beaming with personality, melding Gesaf’s warmly dissonant synths with the Minnesota-bred singer-rapper’s balance for melody and bars. If the production alone doesn’t make you feel like you’re floating towards another realm, the latter’s vocals are what make this record as “TIMELESS” as it is.
KayCyy also announced his first-ever headlining international tour in support of the record. In partnership with Live Nation, WHO ELSE?!” kicks off June 7 in Washington DC and ends its US slate in Minneapolis. The tour’s leg overseas starts in Stockholm (June 29) and will conclude in Byron Bay, Australia (July 22)

Following “Motown” with BabyTron in January, KayCyy stayed consistent with a string of SoundCloud exclusives labeled New Music Mondays, which boasted drops like “GODSPEED,” “LIVE MORE!”, “FLOATING,” “760 Springs.” Coupled with official releases in “Breaking Point” and an EP in Who Else Would It Be, he also appeared on Lil Keed’s posthumous project Keed Talk To Em 2. KayCyy’s June 2022 debut, Get Used To It, asserted his arrival as an undeniable voice of our generation.
With meditative bangers like “LOVE AND HATE,” “THE SUN” and “OKAY!” already in their arsenal, the pair’s reunion on a proper project is not only cinematic, but tailor-made. As far as chemistry goes, KayCyy and Gesaffelstein spark a special bond for years to come on TW2052.
